See how membership worksThe NIH's Interventions Testing Program, a multi-site research program that screens drugs for lifespan effects, tested acarbose and published one of the largest median lifespan extensions of any FDA-approved drug in their male-mouse cohort (Harrison et al., 2014). Metformin has decades of widespread human use, with strong tolerability data and an established safety profile.
Acarbose blunts post-meal glucose spikes. Metformin lowers fasting glucose and activates AMPK, the cellular energy-sensing system that triggers many of metformin's longevity-relevant effects. The two work on different parts of the glucose system, and both are taken daily with meals.

Glucose Foundation is the entry protocol for the practice. It is for the patient who wants to begin with the most evidence-based place to start and prefers a daily oral routine. The medications are inexpensive, well-tolerated, and have decades of clinical history. Your physician follows up and adjusts the protocol from there.
Glucose Foundation is available to members at member rates. The medications run $50 per month, and with Practice Membership at $129, that comes to $179 per month.
Nothing is charged when you join. Billing begins only after a physician has approved your plan.
